It’s time to service your industrial or commercial air-conditioning system

Whether you’re responsible for an office, factory or plant, it’s easy to focus on maintaining your heating equipment during these frosty months while the air-cooling system takes a well-earned winter break.

However, if you want your air-conditioning to be fully operational when the warm weather returns (we know, it feels like a long way off!) then it’s crucial that you look after it while it’s out of service. The last thing you or your staff want when the summer months arrive is an out-of-service cooling system, so here are some winter HVAC maintenance checks to consider:

  • Check and clean filters
  • Check and clean coils
  • Measure refrigerant level and top up if necessary (remember that the use of reclaimed R-22 will be banned from January 1 2015)
  • Identify and fix leaks
  • Clear ducts of dirt and debris
  • Calibrate thermostats
  • Lubricate moving parts
  • Inspect drain pans for stagnant water.

There’s a lot to consider when carrying out a winter air-conditioning system check, and we understand that there isn’t always time to fit it in. So why not let a HVAC expert such as Gibbons take care of everything? We offer an extensive programme of HVAC services, covering everything from coil cleaning to fan overhauls, and our engineers will work around your schedule so there’s no need for unnecessary downtime.
