How to drain a swimming pool

Emptying a swimming pool is often seen as a last resort, but if you’re concerned about cracks and other damage to the walls and base of your pool then you may have no choice.

We strongly recommend taking advice before deciding to empty your pool, but if it’s something you’d like to do then you’ll want to use a reliable water transfer solution. Gibbons recommends the DIWA submersible pump from industry leaders Lowara.

This stainless-steel pump is available in four sizes, from 0.55 kW to 1.5 kW and delivers up to 25 m³ per hour. The pump can be immersed to a depth of up to 7 metres and operates on both single and three-phase 50 and 60 Hz power supplies.

Because the Lowara DIWA submersible pump is small and easy to handle, getting it in and out of your pool is simple, and storage is no problem. Plus, submersible pumps are much quieter than those located above ground, meaning no noise disturbance during the process.
