RE:FIT London cuts energy bills by £6 million a year

Organisations across the capital are saving a total of around £6 million each year as a result of the RE:FIT London energy-efficiency programme for non-domestic buildings.

RE:FIT London helps organisations as diverse as NHS bodies, schools and heritage organisations to implement energy-efficiency improvements in areas such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). It does this by providing free support for securing the essential funding and expertise required to put such measures in place.

Figures released at the end of February 2016 showed that the RE:FIT London scheme had helped more than 200 companies save around 103,000 tonnes of CO2 between them. More than 600 public buildings in London have benefitted from the retrofitting scheme since its launch in 2008.

RE:FIT London has been so successful that in 2014, a similar scheme began to be rolled out across England and Wales with the help of funding from the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

If you’re looking to overhaul air-handling equipment within a non-domestic building, then Gibbons HVAC Services have many years of expertise in retrofitting and refurbishment.

Gibbons use innovative energy calculators to analyse air-handling system energy consumption and identify areas for improvement. If the existing system is found to be less efficient than an upgraded one would be, we can perform a retrofit to modify it and significantly improve performance without the need for a full replacement.

In many cases, only certain components require replacing which removes the expense and inconvenience of changing the whole system.
