What is an ABB ACS310 variable-speed drive used for?

The ACS310 is an ABB low-voltage AC variable-speed drive specifically designed for use in fan and pump applications. The drive contains many dedicated features to help solve problems commonly faced by fan and pump users.

Available sized from 0.37 – 22 kW, the ACS310 is perfect for squared-torque applications including submersible, irrigation and booster pumps along with centrifugal fans.

The ACS310 includes a pre-programmed pipe-cleaning feature designed to address the issue of jamming, which is regularly encountered in wastewater applications. Soft pump and fan control (SPFC) varies the drive’s performance depending on changes in pressure or flow, which helps to reduce leaks. This maximises the life of the pump or fan system and lowers maintenance costs.

An energy optimiser ensures power consumption is minimised, comparing usage to the equivalent during direct on line (DOL) operation. Savings are displayed in the user’s local currency.

The resilient drive can be operated in ambient temperatures of up to 50°C without derating the output current, while its compact design facilitates cabinet installations.

If you’re interested in optimising the energy efficiency of your fan or pump application, call Alan Roberts on 07966 468430 or email alan@gibbonsgroup.co.uk for more information on the ABB ACS310.
