BSRIA produces indoor air quality guide

The BSRIA (Building Services Research and Information Association), in the wake of increasing concern over indoor air quality, has produced a free guide looking at various elements of the subject. These include:

  • Health risks caused by air pollution
  • Threshold limit values (TLVs)
  • Everyday contaminants including water vapour, carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • Guidance and legislation
  • Regulatory bodies

The guide, written for facilities managers, building owners and building services professionals, aims to raise awareness of the links between poor IAQ and the health of building occupants.

The free BSRIA guide can be downloaded here.

Here at Gibbons Ultraviolet Solutions, we’ve been aware of the threat of polluted indoor air for many years. Collaborating with BioZone Scientific International, we’ve designed and manufactured pioneering ultraviolet germicidal irradiation systems for the disinfection of air and surfaces within occupied spaces.

These innovative devices use energy-efficient ultraviolet lamps to apply powerful ultraviolet-C (UVC) light to air and surfaces, destroying contaminants and preventing their re-growth.

Our product range includes solutions for use within air handling units (AHUs) and equipment to be fitted within washroom facilities for the removal of bacteria, germs, viruses and unwanted odours.

Ease of use makes these solutions attractive to building owners and managers who do not have the time or personnel to dedicate to HVAC maintenance. For example, the CoilCare® system is easily mounted for fast installation and requires minimal maintenance, while the PR air purifying equipment can be used as a portable device or fixed installation.
