EU MEPS: Latest phase less than a month away

As another busy year draws to a close, here at Gibbons we’re already looking forward to the exciting challenges ahead during 2017; one of which is the third phase of the EU MEPS (European Minimum Energy Performance Standards) electric motor efficiency legislation.

The compulsory Energy-using Products (EuP) directive states that from January 1st 2017, motors with a rated output of 0.75 - 375 kW sold in the EU must meet IE3 efficiency (or IE2 if coupled with a variable-speed drive).

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) ordering electric motors must consider their needs and ask whether their supplier can provide IE3 motors and/or variable-speed drives.

Gibbons Engineering Group supplies high-performance IE3 electric motors along with ABB drives for a huge range of industrial and commercial applications, meaning we’re the go-to provider for OEMs and machine builders across the UK and beyond.

Our position as an authorised value provider for ABB drives allows us to access an unrivalled range of drives for next-day delivery along with outstanding technical support. So for all your needs as we enter the next phase of the EU MEPS regulations, we’re the only supplier you’ll need.
