56% of UK manufacturers expect to increase productivity in 2017

The majority of British manufacturers are confident of improving productivity in 2017, according to a recent report from EEF.

The annual Executive Study from the manufacturers’ organisation found that 56% of UK manufacturers believed their organisation would increase productivity during the year ahead, with half of respondents aiming to improve efficiency by increasing investment in technology and innovation.

This positive approach is certainly impressive, particularly with Brexit looming ominously and likely economic turbulence during the process of removing Britain from the EU.

But how can manufacturers make best use of their investment?

Electric motor-driven processes such as mixers, conveyors, pumps and compressors offer an ideal opportunity for reducing energy costs in manufacturing. By upgrading to the latest IE3 and IE4 electric motors, as well as adding variable-speed drives to their systems, users can maximise efficiency and enjoy return on investment within a matter of months in many cases.

As part of our complete package of electrical and mechanical products and services, we at Gibbons supply electric motors and industry-leading ABB drives, along with pumps, gearboxes and air handling equipment. These products are available either individually or as a bespoke package, with installation and commissioning also available from our expert engineers.
