Gibbons’ Andrew completes CDM health and safety course

Gibbons’ HVAC Services Manager Andrew Knight has helped to strengthen the company’s control over health and safety in its operations by completing a CDM (Construction [Design and Management]) course.

The CDM Regulations 2015 replaces the withdrawn 2007 standard and helps those certified to:

  • Properly manage risks in projects
  • Engage with workers about risks and how they are being managed
  • Have appropriate personnel on projects
  • Coordinate work with others

Run by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), completion of the interactive one-day course enables Mr Knight and other attendees to:

  • Understand the legal requirements of CDM 2015
  • Identify the roles or the client, principal contractor, principal designer, contractors and designers
  • Appreciate the importance of the requirements for assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and resources
  • Identify requirement for project documentation

Not only does CDM certification help us to manage health and safety within our business, it also demonstrates to clients that we are a responsible and conscientious company that cares about protecting its staff and visitors.
