Virgin Pulse Global Challenge – week 12 update

Seven members of the Gibbons Engineering Group team are taking part in the 100-day Virgin Pulse Global Challenge. This event requires participants to wear a pedometer throughout every day until Friday 15th December in order to accumulate the maximum number of steps for their team.

The ‘Funky Gibbons’ team is up against seven fellow ABB authorised value providers, and the healthy competition is encouraging us all to become more active.

Over the last 84 days, Funky Gibbons has travelled 2,328 miles, at an average of 10,162 steps per day per team member. With just two weeks of competition remaining, improving on 5th place in the ABB mini league looks unlikely but we’re all determined to finish on a high.

Today marks the end of the final mini challenge, which requires each of us to achieve a total of 75,000 or more within seven days. Despite the cold, dark nights and thoughts turning to Christmas preparations, the team has given it their all – whatever the outcome.

Look out for our final update in two weeks as the challenge comes to an end. Can Funky Gibbons hold off EDC Ramblers and secure 5th place?

As an authorised value provider, Gibbons is exclusively approved to supply, install and service ABB drives while offering training and technical expertise.

In addition, we also provide a 24-hour Drive Hire service, with ABB drives available round the clock for emergency hire. Find out more by calling 01621 868 138 or email
