We are extremely pleased to announce that we have achieved a certificate of accreditation from the Alcumus SafeContractor for another year. The certificate is vital to Gibbons’ operations, proving that we meet the Alcumus SafeContractor health and safety standards.
There are well over 35,000 contractors in the UK that use SafeContractor, from sole traders, right up to big multi-million pound businesses. SafeContractor offers support during the audit process and their customer service is excellent which is helpful to us. SafeContractor is also the leading accreditation scheme in the UK and a founding member of the SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement), which is the mutual recognition scheme for occupational health and safety standards particularly within construction.
What was required?
We needed to provide an in-depth audit of our risk management systems to gain accreditation for another year proving they comply with the current legislation. We had to prove to Alcumus that we had all the relevant health and safety policies in place, risk assessments, and health and safety training for our employees.
At Gibbons, we take pride in the work and the services we provide, so ensuring that we complete the SafeContractor audit successfully is an important part of the process. We want to ensure that our customers have confidence in our methods. The certification also gives confidence to new potential customers as we meet the required safety standards, and therefore can carry out work in a safe and timely manner.
