London’s Hop Exchange was the setting as two specialists from our air handling divisions were invited to present the Gibbons Energy Savings Plan to Evora Global, an expert sustainability consultancy.
Andrew Knight (HVAC Services) and Colin Hardman (Ultraviolet Solutions) presented the plan to five Evora Global consultants, who were very impressed by the energy-saving strategy.
The plan details five ways in which building owners and managers can improve energy-efficiency in their property’s heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system.
Briefly, the five-point plan comprises:
- Retrofitting variable-speed drives to electric motors
- Upgrading to the highest-efficiency plug fan
- Ultraviolet disinfection system for HVAC equipment
- Investment in the latest motor technologies
- Replacement of inadequate or dirty filters with high-efficiency systems
Because HVAC systems, electric motors and pumps account for around 65% of a building’s total energy consumption, making improvements to air-handling equipment can have a major impact on energy costs while also helping managers to comply with legislation such as BREEAM.
With a comprehensive offering of products and site services for HVAC, humidification and ultraviolet, we’ve delivered projects for high-profile clients across multiple sectors and provide bespoke solutions for new and existing installations.
