Clean growth strategy

In accordance with the Climate Change Act, the UK government has an obligation to cut carbon emissions by 57% from 1990 levels by 2050.

Its response to this challenge is the Clean Growth Strategy, an initiative with £2.2 billion of funding allocated for the period 2015-2021.

The strategy is based around six key areas, one of which is improving efficiency in business and industry.

According to research from the Clean Growth Strategy, heating in buildings and industry is responsible for one-third of emissions in Britain. Therefore, this must be seen as a key area in which to implement energy-saving measures.
