Year of Engineering service at Westminster Abbey

Our Marketing Manager Nadya Damhar attended  Year of Engineering service at Westminster Abbey on 22nd November to celebrate the Year of Engineering 2018. Led by the Dean of Westminster the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, the service was the first of its kind. The event recognised and celebrated the work of engineers and thanked them for their continued contribution to progress and society.

Being an official partner for the Year of Engineering, it was a pleasure for us to attend the service, which aimed to inspire the next generation of engineers. From the studs in football boots to Moon landings, the service drew attention to the commonplace nature of engineering in our everyday lives, as well as pivotal moments for engineering throughout history. The service effectively highlighted the many and varied opportunities available to aspiring engineers.

We enjoyed celebrating the Year of Engineering here at Gibbons Engineering Group by welcoming the pupils of Tollesbury Primary School to us for a day to learn more about a career in engineering.  We are looking forward to continuing with similar events throughout next year as well, so keep your eyes peeled for more details to follow!
